About two weeks ago I received an invite to start using a new browser called RockMelt. I immediately thought it was cool, but I wanted to try it out more before I came out with a final verdict on this so called “social media web browser.” RockMelt is developed by Tim Howes and Eric Vishria, and these gentlemen are backed by Netscape founder Marc Andreessen.
So, what do I think about this browser? I like it a lot! You can pin your favorite websites and stay up to date with the updates occurring on these sites because RockMelt will monitor your favorite sites for RSS feeds. You will also stay updated on everything your friends are doing because of the Facebook app that is loaded every time RockMelt is launched, and you can also follow the activity on your Twitter account through RockMelt.
Overall, I think this web browser is on to something. The idea is very neat and it definitely makes it easy to monitor the activity on the websites you like. I like RockMelt and will keep using it. I believe it is living up to its name of being a social media browser. They also update the browser every now and then, and the updates I have seen so far have made the browser better, even if it has been just smaller things.

I still have a few invites left if you are interested in trying RockMelt. If you are, let me know in a comment.
